PROFILE OF ONDO KINGDOM

Ondo city sat among ticking forested plains that characterized Southwestern Nigeria and the towns and communities that made up the Ondo Kingdom. Geographically, Ondo City’s Latitude is 7.1° or 7.6 North and Longitude 4.8333° or 4°50 East with rough estimate population of about 360,000 people.

Located some 300 Km to North East of Lagos, Nigeria’s economic nerve Centre and 45 Km West of Akure, the Ondo State capital.

The city is easily reached by road from all part of the country. The descent of people as well as the geography of Ondo City does not reflect a significant deviation from those of other towns and communities inhabited by Yorubas in Southwestern Nigeria who virtually agree of common paternity of Oduduwa. Ondo City is a city in Ondo State, Southwest Nigeria. Ondo city is the second largest City in Ondo State and the trade Centre for the surrounding regions.

THE OSEMAWE AND PARAMOUNT RULER OF ONDO KINGDOM, His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Victor Adesimbo Ademefun Kiladejo, ascended the throne of his forefathers in the year 2006 as the unanimous choice of the Ondos. He was born on the 11th November, 1953 to the Royal family of Okuta. His father, late Prince Gbadebo Adedoyin Kiladejo was a highly regarded and well-loved philanthropist. His mother, late Mrs. Julianah Olusola Kiladejo of Ajayi Dynasty in Akure was a woman of great virtue. He is a direct descendant of “Pupupu” the founding Monarch of Ondo. He ascended the throne as the 44th Osemawe and Paramount Ruler following a progressive tradition that has been unbroken for over 500 years. HRM had a sound preparation for life through his education and family upbringing.
